Sean's Dance (Flute and Harp) Review
HarpSong is a musical duo featuring artists Karen Almquist, harp and soprano, and Jennifer Grady, flute, which is based in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. SEAN'S DANCE is a collection of Jennifer and Karen's favorite Celtic-inspired pieces performed on flute and harp. The recording is peaceful and soothing to the soul, yet lively and uplifting at times. The CD also includes three original pieces written by Jennifer Grady. The title track SEAN'S DANCE, featuring two flutes and piano, was written in honor of her 13 year old son who was born with Down Syndrome. SWEET MOLLY'S LAMENT and SOARING, along with SEAN'S DANCE, are all published by ALRY Publications in Charlotte, N.C. Joining Jennifer and Karen on the CD for selected tracks are Andrea Niemiec on the string double bass and Terry Ostergaard on the bodhran. The final track, a moving, yet peaceful rendition of A GAELIC BLESSING by John Rutter, features the beautiful soprano voice of Karen Almquist with harp accompaniment. Read more...
